The City of Torrington will follow the guidelines advanced to us by Governor Mark Gordon which requires us to close our doors to the public. All City facilities are closed to the public until further notice. Please continue to communicate with us via phone, e-mail, text or regular mail or contact us for an in person appointment if your business cannot be conducted over the phone. The Golf Course is open for limited play. Please call 532-3868 before you play.
The June 2, 2020 City Council Meeting will be held in the Council Chambers at 7:00 PM. There is a limit of 10 - 12 seats available that are spaced six feet apart. Staff, Mayor and Council will be seated as far apart as possible with masks required. The public is required to wear face masks to attend the meeting. The meeting will also be broadcasted live by KGOS/KERM for the public to listen to the meeting.

The City of Torrington re-opening plans:Parks, Cemetery, Golf, Museum, Facility Maintenance, and Vehicle Maintenance will resume normal operations with social distancing restrictions in place beginning May 4th. Park restrooms will not be opened until May 18th.Water, Wastewater, Streets & Sanitation will resume normal operations with social distancing restrictions in place beginning May 11th.City Hall billing and administration, Electric Department, and Municipal Court will resume normal operations with strict social distancing restrictions and sanitary measures in place beginning May 18th.Re-opening plans may be changed if the County Health Officer orders further restrictions.
As of April, 7 2020, City Council Meetings and Work Sessions will be held via Zoom Web Conference. Agendas, minutes and recordings of meetings will be posted in the agenda center on the web link below. KGOS/KERM will also be streaming the audio live for the regular Council Meetings. The City Council will consider action to declare an emergency exists in the City of Torrington. An Emergency Ordinance will be considered Temporarily Suspending Chapter 2.04 of the Torrington Municipal Code implementing a video/audio only order for all public meetings. Due to limited staffing the Recycling Department will be closed until further notice. Recycle Trailers will not be available to public.
