My wife, Becky, and I have been blessed with two daughters and three grandchildren. I graduated from the University of Wyoming and the University of Wyoming School of Law. I have practiced law in Torrington for the past 20 years. I was born and raised in Torrington. My parents were Ken and Helen Doby. My father was the Goshen County Sheriff from 1955 to 1971. He was then the Goshen County Undersheriff from 1975 until his retirement in 1987.1 was raised in the Sheriffs apartment directly under the old Goshen County Jail and next to the Goshen County Courthouse. I have been involved in politics and public service in one way or another all of my life. As a child, I patrolled the county with my father who passed on to me much wisdom as to how the world is supposed to work and how it actually does. I am eternally grateful for both my parents and the wisdom they passed on to my two sisters and me. I am a veteran of the US Army and served in West Germany for 28 months from 1973 to 1975 during the Vietnam era and the Cold War era. I am Torrington born and bred. There are people I encounter daily that I don’t remember NOT knowing!
